It is the aim of the RCH to provide care to all of its residents to the highest standard, delivered by well-trained and motivated staff. The RCH can currently accommodate up to 28 residents who are encouraged to treat the Home as their own.
The buildings currently housing the RCH were not designed for the provision of residential care and, with the passage of time and increased regulation, it is becoming more difficult for the Charity to meet present day requirements.
At a meeting of the Planning Committee in November, followed by a further meeting in February, our application was refused permission, contrary to the recommendation of the Planning Officers. In partnership with the Sheppard Trust the Trustees are currently considering an appeal against this refusal.
