Celebrating One Year

 

For many years our old site consisted of two very old Victorian buildings, linked together with a walkway at the original address of No. 82-84 Hurst Road.  In recent years, work went on behind the scenes in working towards building a brand-new state-of-the art building for all our residents and staff. 

 

After the demolition of the original building on No. 84 our beautiful new building went up and gradually became reality.  We moved in on Wednesday 21st August 2024 which was a truly enjoyable and memorable day!

 

Almost exactly to the day one whole year later on Thursday 21st August 2025, we held our Official Opening Party with Special Guest of Honour, Dame Penelope Keith, DBE, DL.  It was a wonderful afternoon in the history of The Royal Cambridge Home spent with all our residents, relatives, friends, our trustees and staff.  We also had many people who were involved with the original sale of the land and construction of our building, our architects, designers and building contractors.
